Public Sector
Director
Scope of Position: Practice Directors are responsible for
managing complex engagements, ensuring that deliverables meet client
requirements, qualifying client expectations and insuring engagement
team works to meet/exceed expectations. The Public Sector Director
will have the responsibility of developing practice strategy, quality,
and client satisfaction for business in city/county government,
K-12 public school districts, and Higher Education.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate
Solid understanding of the company including organization, mission,
goals, lines of business (SAP, Oracle, i2)
- Build business,
personnel, and administrative infrastructure in region, line of
business, or specialty area to support and achieve the goals,
strategies, and objectives set by Senior Management
- Lead hiring
and staffing efforts for region, line of business, or specialty
area
- Meet and
or exceed revenue objectives (billings/bookings) set by senior
management
- Demonstrate
solid ability to run day to day operations on projects in region,
line of business, or specialty area
- Proactively
identify, build, and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues,
and subordinates; produce profitable and referenceable accounts.
- When appropriate
lead and or participate in the development of winning and profitable
proposals, using the company's and SAP guidelines
- Proactively
identify opportunities for business within region, line of business,
or specialty area
- Demonstrate
ability to operate with minimum supervision
- Demonstrate
strong ability to evaluate and develop staff members
- Lead quality
assurance reviews for own and (even) others application engagements
- Lead and
participate in all aspects of contract negotiations and possess
a thorough understanding of legal and contract issues concerning
the company
- Use effective
written and oral communication skills to facilitate client and
internal meetings
- Serve as
a mentor for one or more consultants
- Participate
in the development of the company's intellectual capital by contributing
or ensuring project teams contribution to the company's central
repository
- Ensure submission
of all administrative work in support of project engagement as
well as time and expenses
Minimum Qualifications:
- 8 years consulting
experience
- 8 years industry
experience
- 5 years project
management
- Excellent
written and verbal communication skills
- Problem
solving skills
- Customer
service skills
- Ability to
travel
Working
Conditions: Various locations, various industries, 75% travel
Education: Bachelor's degree in related field required.
Financial Responsibilities: Budget for projects in region/line
of business/specialty area. Responsible for revenue for region or
product assigned.
Professional Affiliations: Member of product user groups
and/or member of related professional associations highly desired
(i.e. APICS, SHRM, State boards of Accountancy)
