Candidate requirements:
- MS or Ph.D.
in imaging science, printing science, color science, statistics,
psychology, or related field. BS with suitable skills/experience
will also be considered.
- Proficiency
required in two or more of the following fields: color science,
image processing, color management, digital printing, graphic
arts, statistics, psychophysics.
- Programming
skills (C/C++ and/or Matlab) would be very desirable.
- In-depth
knowledge of applications such as Photoshop, Freehand and Pagemaker
would be a major advantage.
- Good teamwork
and communication skills are essential.
Job description:
- Expand and
refine existing systems for evaluating image quality and image
preference.
- Explore commercial
digital printing workflows and color management approaches, and
understand their effect on image quality.
- Design and
conduct psychophysical experiments and customer surveys, and analyze
and interpret the data.
- Develop understanding
and data on human visual perception.
- Organize
and be responsible for operation of the image quality lab.
