Director
of Product Management
Our client,
a Fortune 200 company is looking for a Director of Product Management.
Reports to: Director and Business Manager of Platform Team
Responsibilities
and expected contributions:
- Build and
manage a team of 3-5 product managers focused on new product development
to support high growth Edge and Access Switch markets of the SP
and WAN segments.
- Serve as
key interface between sales, marketing, and engineering, on developing
product strategy and implementation plans over a planning horizon
of .5 to 3 years.
- Define product
requirements and detailed marketing goals, forecasts, pricing
plans, financials, and project plans following corporate processes
and procedures.
- Manage product
line and associated projects through various stages of product
life cycle.
- Be accountable
for meeting timetables and milestones for alpha, beta and commercial
releases as well as attaining sales and financial goals.
- Direct the
development of marketing and sales support and training programs
required to achieve sales goals.
- Create and/or
direct the development of Business Cases, Roadmap Issues Presentations,
Product Requirements Documents, Product Marketing Plans and Launch
collateral.
Qualifications:
- Must have
proven track record of creating system-level solutions to customer
or internal problems/needs, by overcoming hurdles
- Must have
proven track record of providing positive leadership outside one's
functional area.
- Must have
2+ years of direct managment experience.
- Proven track
record of organizing a group, providing clear vision, direction,
goals and objectives.
- Must have
above standard communication skills (written, verbal and social)
with proven, positive record of dealing with customers, sales
personnel, and engineering personnel as lead spokesperson of a
project, vision, program, solution, etc.
- Must have
proven track record of managing complete product life cycle for
product lines in excess of $20M annual, and projects in excess
of $2M.
- Knowledge
of industry segments, solutions, network architectures, technologies,
competition, etc. that are required to provide development vision
and direction.
